Insect Body Anatomy – Insect is one of the small-bodied animals. However, its anatomy is quite complicated. One  Insect anatomy differs from other insect anatomy. However, generally it is not much different. Insect is the included in anthropods. The main character of this type of animal that is has six limbs. That is why they are often called Hexapoda, which means “six-legged”.

Insect body anatomy: Beetle

Beetle body anatomy is divided into eight sections. First, mouth is one of the three main in beetle’s head besides eyes and antenna. Antenna, its function is to detect and notice the surroundings. It helps beetles recognize food and also its enemy. The next is eyes. The function of beetle’s eyes is not quite good. Although it can be used to see things, it doesn’t help that much. Beetles rather use their antenna than their eyes to recognize things around them.

Pronotum is a part which covers the head of the beetle. The position is on the back of the flat head. This is what makes the head of the beetles become round. Sometimes, pronotum is pitted. Wings that the beetles have are very transparent. When they are used to fly, they are barely seen because they clap very fast. Legs that beetles have are very small and short. And beetles’ legs have fur. The legs have some sort of oil that enables the beetles to walk even on difficult area.

Well, that is one example of insect body anatomy. Insect body anatomy is something complicated but interesting at the same time. Its complexity makes scientist and experts are curious to know more about the detail and then they explore more about the insect anatomy. Due to its anatomy, insects are segmented animals with a very high level of adaptationand they have relatively small size and was first successfully colonizes in the earth.

Food eaten by insects depends on the type of the mouth.There are several types of mouth that will also determine the type of food they eat, they are: piercing sucking, biting and chewing. According to food eaten, there are some types of insect that are often found. Those are the insect herbivore species.There are also carnivore and omnivore insects.
