Muscle anatomy – Muscle is a part of human body which enables us to move, smile, walk, frown and so on. This part is very important. If you do not have muscle then all what you can do is just laying without doing nothing.

Muscle anatomy and its functions

Muscle is one of the tissues that our body has. Muscle tissue means a group of muscle cells that have the same shape, structure, as well as functions. There some muscle sections. One of those sections is Sarkolema. Sarkolema is the membrane that lines and protects the muscle cells. Sarkolema also functions as a muscle protector. Without this section, muscle can be easily damaged. The next section is Sarcoplasm. This section is a kind of aqueous that functions as the place where myofibril and myofilament are.

Myofibrils are the muscle fibers. This section actually is the like the other section of muscle called myofilament. Among myofilament and myofibrils, there is a section that is Sarcoplasm. Myofilament is sourced of myofibrils, that is why it has filament in it as well as what the myofibrils have. There are two types of myofilament. They are homogenous myofilament and heterogeneous myofilament. Homogenous myofilament is located in the smooth muscle while heterogeneous myofilament is in the cardiac and skeletal muscles.

Next, we will discuss the tissues of the muscle. The tissues of smooth muscle have a plain and smooth form. It is also cylindrical. It has only one nucleus which is located in the center in the cell. Digestive system has this kind of muscle which controls the process of the organs that are used in the ingestion.

Skeletal muscle adheres to the skeleton. This muscle enables us to move, walk, etc. How this muscle works is well recognized. One example of this muscle is arm muscle. In arm muscle, muscle works when we want it to work, for instance, we want to touch a book then we will move our arm to touch the book. That is how skeletal muscle works.

Cardiac muscle only exists in the cardiac area. It controls the movement and activity that our heart does. We cannot controls how it works. Cardiac muscle works subconsciously. The shape of this muscle is like the first muscle, skeletal muscle.

Muscle anatomy is a quite simple anatomy to learn. As it has been mentioned above, it has only several sections and three types of such.
